Quality Assurance and Accreditation
HCMUNRE regards quality assurance and accreditation as the foundation for improving education and meeting society’s needs. Accreditation criteria serve as benchmarks for all of the University’s activities, from teaching and research to management and student services.
The University conducts regular self-assessments of its institution and programs, and collects feedback from students, alumni, lecturers and employers to continuously improve teaching and curricula.
Key results:
- 2021 – The University was certified as meeting the quality standards for higher education institutions of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET).
- Since 2021 – 10 undergraduate programs have been accredited against MOET standards: Environmental Management; Environmental Engineering Technology; Geodesy and Cartography Engineering; Information Technology; Land Management; Business Administration; Information Systems; Water Supply and Sewerage Engineering; Hydrology; and Natural Resource Economics.
- December 2024 – Self-assessment began for 2 master’s programs (Land Management and Environmental Engineering).
Achievements
With 50 years of history and 15 years as a university, HCMUNRE has established itself among the strong public universities of southern Vietnam and the country. The University has twice been awarded the Second-Class Labor Order by the State President of Vietnam (2012 and 2021), along with many certificates of merit and emulation flags from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Ministry of Education and Training. On 16 August 2021, MOET issued the decision recognizing the University’s institutional accreditation.
