Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment is a public university under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment that meets the national standards for higher education institutions, with the mission of developing high-quality human resources in natural resources and the environment at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Milestones
- 1976 – The Southern Branch of the Hydro-Meteorological Staff School (Trường Cán bộ Khí tượng Thủy văn phân hiệu phía Nam) was founded in Ho Chi Minh City and later renamed the Southern Hydro-Meteorological Staff School. At the same time, Surveying and Mapping Secondary School No. 2 (Trường Trung học Đo đạc Bản đồ 2) was founded in Dong Nai.
- October 1994 – Surveying and Mapping Secondary School No. 2 was renamed Central Cadastral Secondary School No. 3 (Trường Trung học Địa chính Trung ương III).
- 18 April 1996 – The Southern Hydro-Meteorological Staff School was renamed the Ho Chi Minh City Hydro-Meteorological Staff School.
- 2007 – Ho Chi Minh City College of Natural Resources and Environment was established by merging the Ho Chi Minh City Hydro-Meteorological Staff School and Central Cadastral Secondary School No. 3.
- 19 August 2011 – The College was upgraded to Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment under Decision No. 1430/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister.
