Overview
Meteorology and climatology is a high-tech science that studies the atmosphere and uses satellite and radar data to forecast hazardous weather (storms, floods, droughts), analyse climate trends and build disaster response and climate change scenarios. Under the motto “learning to do, doing to learn”, students work with advanced forecasting models, practise at the Tan Son Hoa and Nha Be meteorological stations and can intern with Vietnam Television (VTV) on weather bulletins.
Career Opportunities
Graduates work as forecasters at national and regional hydro-meteorological centers, aviation meteorologists, weather presenters, climate change specialists in government and international organizations, engineers in renewable energy, oil and gas and environment companies, and researchers.
